What Is NOIZY – Interview With Salome Mikashavidze

by Mary Bitchashvili

Noizy is Tbilisi based Fashion PR & Sales agency. We will collaborate in the near future and talk about the latest important fashion news you should know! Now Let’s interview the founder / CEO and giiiiiiiiiiirll behind this agency Salome Mikashavidze

Q

How did you get into fashion? And what led you to found your own agency?

A

Accidentally. My friend told me about a job opening at Fashion House Materia (currently MATÉRIEL) for PR manager, I applied, they chose me and then the fun started. I was involved in the company’s every operational activity as we were pretty small then, but then we grew and I decided it was time for something new for me. My friends, designers I worked with also started their own brands at the same time so I decided to take a leap with them. First I started as a freelancer, but then the responsibilities grew and demand for my services grew as well. So I decided that I needed more people to do a better job and I started assembling a team that would grow with me and share our passion, that is when NOIZY was born.

Q

What advice do you have for those trying to make and grow their brand in Tbilisi, Georgia?

A

To know the industry very well, be ready for many challenges and hard work. Everything in the fashion industry looks fun and simple from outside. What people don’t understand is that this is a real business with real challenges.

Q

Benefits of living in Tbilisi? (In aspects of career development)

A

Small city, everyone knows everyone so word of mouth works easier.

Q

 Designers you work with

A

Currently NOIZY works with a number of brands, but provides them with different services. Our full-time clients are Lado Bokuchava, Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili, VASKA, Mariam Gvasalia, but we also work on different projects with Gola, Janashia, Lalo and a few new brands that I would like to keep in private for now.

Q

What is the future of fashion?

A

Well because of the current situation no one is certain about the future, especially the future of fashion. It actually depends on how the situation itself will evolve and how long will it take to get back to our previous rhythm of life. But in general, we should probably all think about our planet, world, and people around us and for who or for what are we working.

Q

If you could go back in time what advice, if any, would you give a younger Salomea just starting out?

A

I think what I did and how I did it brought me to this place in life and shaped me the way I am today so the only advice would be not to lose time overthinking and overanalyzing each step.
