Girl Of Summer – Idée Fixe
With bright, sunny colors in mind, we decided to take the shiny Mathilda to the sea without any plan, or scouted locations, or hair/makeup crew, or professional photographer, and roam in the streets/coastline of Batumi and take photos as we went along.
About the pieces:
This season, we’ve added new summer pieces to our brand. We always wanted to explore clothing but never really had time or finances to do so. This season, we decided to focus on just a few staple pieces that would look bold, yet simple and elegant. Some of them are available in only limited quantities because we have a limited amount of fabric. So, the pieces are very special and only temporarily available in the following colors: pastel lime green, vibrant apricot, rich violet, bubblegum pink, and off-white.
Even though shapes look very simple and effortless, we worked for over a month to achieve the perfect fit and perfect cut of each piece.
We also added multicolor variations of our Morocco sandals. They come in: faded sky blue + cream and faded sky blue + green. They are made using the leftover leather and the sole is natural wood.
Also, new colors of our classic Margot flats are available: faded sky blue and shiny azure.
New additions are also slightly updated versions of Margot flats, with better heel support and overall better production quality. The new ones come in classic colors: white, black, and new nude.
The new ’Shaker’ bags (pouch + larger bag) are an inspiration we took from actual furniture:) more specifically, Shaker tape furniture, that uses woven fabrics to create seats and backs of chairs, or surfaces of benches, etc.
We took that idea and made bags with the same technique.
Even though we were limited in resources and timing due to coronavirus pandemic, we are still happy with results
Also, we are frequently asked in what ways are we sustainable and I think that one main reason that we stay sustainable is that we don’t run stock. We make everything after order is made or if a concept store orders a certain quantity. So, we only make our products to order. We try to source materials here and all of our pieces are handmade by local artisans who have been in their respective fields for years and have tons of experience.
In addition, we tried to make ‘trend’ less and seasonless pieces. In fact, all of our pieces are independent of the fashion seasons. So, they can be part of this summer or next summer. We hope they will look good any time anywhere
