TBC Status X Buyers Mag – Vazisubani Estate
In 19th-century Vazisubani Estate was established with the idea of French Chateau. Although the history of former space in Kakheti traces back to 1891. The restoration and design of this magnificent estate involved many professionals – local or international. Although rebuilt and renovated, Vazisubani Estate preserves the original aesthetic and elements. The majority of objects here have their own history and either are renovated or come from the local auctions. They represent the life in 19th century.
For instance, one of the cupboards was brought from England and it dates back to 1793. The estate is surrounded by forest – a sanctuary of 100-year old trees. Vazisubani Estate is unique due to its concept – this land also gives birth to extremely rare varieties of wine that can be tasted at Marani (Georgian house of wine); Here you will enjoy the views of the vineyard, Alazani Valley, and Caucasus mountains. Keti Bakradze – chef of the Vazisubani Estate Restaurant offers you a variety of perfectly curated and interesting dishes.
1. Havaianas
The colorful rubber shoes have become synonymous with Brazil. Many carry a little Brazilian flag on their strap. “Havaianas embodies Brazil’s fun, vibrant & spontaneous way of life,” claims the company’s Twitter account. And it is this strong identity that has helped it hold its own, against cheap versions of what is an easy-to-replicate design.
During the shows in Copenhagen, the plastic, rubbery flip-flop wasn’t just spotted on one or two editors and buyers, they were everywhere. Specifically, Denmark’s most recognizable influencers paired their pastel and printed wardrobes with the aughts-era favorite brand, Havaianas. Sitting at the Spring 2019 shows for labels like Ganni, Saks Potts, and By Malene Birger, you could count half a dozen attendees wearing the affordable Brazilian flip-flop in a variety of shades, from baby pink to metallic gold.
“Havaianas might not measure up to a Loewe slide or a chunky Balenciaga sneaker when it comes to catching the attention of a street style photographer, but as Teisbaek and other showgoers in Copenhagen prove, sometimes a throwback sandal can go a long way in making a statement.”- VOGUE.COM
2. Solid And Stripped
The New York-based brand founded in 2012 boasts a fanbase of bold-faced names including Alexa Chung and is the model-off-duty’s swimwear line of choice – Cindy Bruna, Gigi Hadid, and Adut Akech have all worn its color-block bikinis and retro swimsuits. Now, it will rely on its cult following to champion its sustainability credentials.
“We have included a sustainable fabric (78 percent recycled plastic) in our collection for years, but we haven’t talked about it until recently,” founder Isaac Ross tells Vogue. “We even manufactured [sustainable LA-based label] Reformation’s first season of swimwear and met all of their sustainability standards. As a modern brand, we have a responsibility to be environmentally conscious.”
